Getting a preview of your perfect look for your big day? Great! I highly recommend doing so. In fact, sometimes multiple previews are necessary. Keep in mind, the more someone does your makeup, the better they will get at it as they learn your face and what looks best, etc.
There are small things you can do to help make the most of your preview, that you may not even have considered! Here is my list of tips for any Bride prepping for the wedding:
- Wear White!
Sound strange? Maybe. But what colors you wear do have an impact on how the colours on your face look. Ever notice how some people look really good in certain colours and some don’t look as good in the same color? That’s part of it! Wearing white, or a light colored top, makes an impact!
- Steer clear of high necklines!
Why? Because I want to add that glowy goodness to your collarbones and give you a true
preview of the complete look, and high necklines make that impossible. If your dress is a high neckline, that’s ok, I will add that glow to your shoulders and arms, too!
- Wash your face!
While that may seem self-explanatory, it isn’t always the case. Please DO NOT arrive to your preview with any makeup on of any kind at all! I will have to take it off, anyway, and won’t be able to cleanse your skin for a perfect canvas like I would prefer. This is the most important item on my list.
- Make an appointment for Dermaplaning
What’s that? Dermaplaning is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that involves scraping off dead skin cells and peach fuzz with a scalpel to leave your face brighter and smoother. It makes a HUGE difference, and you will fall in love with the results. It’s quick and easy and should be done once a month. Your skincare and makeup will glide on like butter, trust me!
Unsure where to go or who to trust? Ask me! I have some great recommendations for trusted skincare professionals.
- Get a Spray Tan!
This is often overlooked and is SO important. Skin tone changes a look completely, and if you are going to spray for the wedding, doing a trial run of a spray tan is a good rule of
thumb for a couple reasons. You definitely want to make sure you like the results of the tan, and again it will make the makeup look more accurate to your actual wedding day. Deeper skin tones require deeper colors, and vice versa. This is critical!
- Brows, get them cleaned up!
Book yourself a brow appointment with me to get that flawless shape. If you’re a DIY gal, make time within the week of your preview to get them in line. Brows have become a main focal point for makeup looks, and you want to make sure that is in a good way.
And of course, we will be taking pictures!
Please remember that when scheduling, pictures are an important role in making sure you love your look. We definitely want to make sure the makeup photographs beautifully!
